SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Fighting Irish came into this past weekend at a turning point in their season.

Another loss and they could be eliminated from playoff contention, while a win would keep them in the mix.

The Irish responded almost perfectly, as Notre Dame routed Arkansas 56-13 .

The Irish offense looked absolutely unstoppable. The team put up 641 yards of total offense, as CJ Carr threw for over 350 yards with four scores while Jeremiyah Love rushed for two touchdowns and caught two more.

On defense, they shut down the Razorbacks, forcing two turnovers and not allowing any points in the second half.

It was exactly what Notre Dame needed after some early season struggles, and the win showed head coach Marcus Freeman that this team is on the right track.
