MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – Mammoth Cave National Park continues to boost the economy of south-central Kentucky.
A 2024 report shows over 747,000 visitors journeyed to the park and spent over $73 million in our local businesses.
The numbers are up from the year before, and the study shows visitors are staying longer and spending more. The report examined the area within 60 miles of the cave.
Molly Schroer, park ranger at Mammoth Cave National Park, says, “So visitors that are coming to Mammoth Cave National Park are coming for that park experience to visit the cave, our trails. But you know, to come here, they need a place to stay. They need food to eat or gas in their car. So that’s what they’re spending in our local communities. They might even visit another attraction that’s there. So the mo
