GOODRICH, Texas — A Polk County man was arrested after the sheriff's office said he punched a deputy in the face during a traffic stop.
Robert Thomas Hood, 46, of Goodrich, was charged with resisting arrest, assault on a peace officer and driving while license invalid on Monday. According to Polk County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was patrolling in Goodrich Monday at 12:53 p.m. when he observed Hood driving a 2011 Chevrolet truck and travelling above the speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated.
During the course of the stop, the deputy determined Hood's driver's license was invalid and that he had a prior arrest on record. PCSO said the deputy requested Hood exit the vehicle, when he refused. The deputy attempted to remove him from the vehicle. Hood then reportedly resisted further, eve
