OKLAHOMA CITY — Undocumented immigrants from at least nine nations were apprehended as part of a recent “targeted enforcement action” involving truckers on Interstate 40 in western Oklahoma, Gov. Kevin Stitt said Monday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents took part in the action, which focused on identifying commercial truck operators who don’t have valid licenses to drive in Oklahoma.

According to a press release issued by the Governor’s Office, the effort was conducted as part of Operation Guardian, an ongoing initiative to apprehend and deport undocumented immigrants from the state.
