GRAND BLANC, Mich. (Northern News Now) - Investigators continue to sift through the ash and rubble, all that is left of a Michigan church, after a horrific attack during a morning worship service on Sunday.

Law enforcement has now confirmed, five people were killed in the incident, including the suspect, 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford.
The suspect, an ex-marine, crashed through the front door and started shooting the congregation with rounds from an assault rifle and lighting the building on fire.
A day later, dozens of officers and federal agents, including fire and recovery teams, are still searching the burned-out remains of the church.
