New Jersey will soon say goodbye to summer-like temperatures as cooler air returns this week, along with a stretch of dry weather and rough surf conditions from two far-away storms.

That’s the word from the National Weather Service , which says a strong northeast wind and elevated ocean swells will create challenging coastal conditions for beachgoers and boaters on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Small craft advisories are in effect for ocean waters, with wind gusts potentially reaching 30 to 40 mph and seas building to 7 to 11 feet.

Forecasters also say there’s a high risk for dangerous rip currents developing at the Jersey Shore on Tuesday.
