The family of Angelina Resendiz and activists working alongside them held a press conference Monday in San Antonio, Texas, issuing renewed calls for accountability, answers, and systemic change.

Culinary Specialist Angelina Resendiz went missing in late May from Naval Station Norfolk, where she was stationed on board the USS James E. Williams. She was found dead June 9 in a wooded area of Norfolk.

A fellow sailor, Culinary Specialist Jermiah Copeland, is charged in her death. According to evidence presented in a preliminary hearing , Copeland is also accused in sexual assaults against multiple other women, both sailors and civilians.
