TUSCALOOSA Ala. ( WBRC ) - There will be no face-slapping in Alabama, if a state senator has his way.
Senator Gerald Allen has pre-filed a bill for the 2026 legislative session that would ban ‘face-slapping’ in the state.
‘Face-slapping’ is sanctioned in Nevada. There, it is considered a ‘sport’, one where you essentially just stand there and get slapped.
Allen is not in favor of it coming to Alabama.
“It’s a very brutal, nasty, dangerous sport that certainly will send people to the ER, hospital and create some very serious injuries to their face, to their jaw and to their neck,” said Allen.
The Alabama Athletic Commission already has a policy against face-slapping. Allen’s proposal would strengthen it to make it a state law.
