As part of game prep for the Big Sky Conference opener against Eastern Washington last week, Montana State head coach Brent Vigen noticed the Eagles’ tendency to overload one side of their field goal block unit.

That presented the opportunity to try out a fake. The Bobcats met to discuss the change last Monday night, but punter/kickoff specialist Colby Frokjer wasn’t present due to class that night — “Everybody else knew about it, but I didn't, so that was kind of rude of them,” Frokjer joked — but was surprised by teammates and coaches at practice the next morning.

The Bobcats “knew we were going to hit it” against the Eagles, Frokjer said. It was only a matter of timing.
