Amazon settled with the Federal Trade Commission for $2.5 billion in fines with $1.5 billion going to Prime subscribers.
The settlement comes over claims that the company allegedly tricked consumers into signing up for Prime and making it hard to cancel their subscriptions.
The other $1 billion would go to the government in civil fines.
If you signed up for Amazon Prime or “unsuccessfully attempted to cancel” your Prime membership in the U.S. between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, you could qualify for receiving part of the settlement.
