Meshing every phase of football into one good outing has eluded Amherst County for a lot of the young season.
But on Friday against Brookville, every unit rose to the occasion when it was called upon, and Amherst walked out of Lancers Stadium with 24-21 overtime win over a shorthanded Bees squad.
On the opening possession of overtime, Lancers kicker George Rose banged through the first field goal of the year from 22 yards out to give his team a three-point lead. Needing a stop to seal the victory, linebacker Tres Liggon stepped in front of a pass by Brookville quarterback Lincoln McDaniel and sealed the deal for a crucial Seminole District win for the Lancers.
"All three phases showed up when they needed to and it was great to get a win in that sense," Moore said.
