NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – During Monday night’s Minor League Baseball Awards show on MLB Network, the Arkansas Travelers were named winner of the league’s “Best New Alternate Identity” award for their time as the Barkansas Dizzys.

The award comes after the team wore uniforms featuring their ballpark pup Dizzy’s likeness to celebrate his eighth birthday during a six-game homestand in June against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

During the week Dizzy was featured on ESPN, got to eat cake on the field, and played fetch with a robot dog. Over 28,000 people attended the homestand, including an opening night attendance of 7,800.

Travs outfielder Lazaro Montes and second baseman Michael Arroyo were also named to the Prospect Team of the Year second team.
