SAN DIEGO — Visitors can now experience what it's like to be a Navy SEAL through cutting-edge virtual reality technology at the new Navy SEAL Museum , opening Saturday in downtown San Diego.
The 10,000-square-foot museum, located at 1001 Kettner Boulevard in the former Museum of Contemporary Art space, offers an immersive look into the history and operations of Naval Special Warfare through interactive exhibits, VR missions and firsthand accounts from veteran docents.
One of the museum's signature attractions is a pulse-pounding VR hostage rescue mission that simulates jumping out of helicopters, complete with a vibrating chair and environmental effects like salty wind.
"You're going on that mission. So it's very exciting to be able to do that, and it gives you a sense of what we do,"
