NEW ORLEANS — On Monday night, during the Sean Hannity Show, Governor Jeff Landry announced that he had submitted a request for federal assistance to activate up to 1,000 Louisiana National Guard personnel.
Landry states that the request aims to address ongoing public safety concerns across the state.
He cited help from guardsmen after the Bourbon Street terror attack, helping reduce crime through mardi gras, and claimed that homicides, carjackings, and gang-related violence significantly exceed the national average.
