FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — A great restaurant not only serves you good food and drinks, but also makes you feel like family. At La Fonda in Flagstaff , they’ve been doing that for nearly 70 years, because for them, family is everything.

The La Fonda dining room was packed Friday for lunch, but that’s nothing new for the Garcia family, who had been running the Mexican restaurant since 1958.

”I think the greatest thing that happened was I was able to work shoulder to shoulder with my grandfather for 15-20 years,” said Brandon Garcia.

Brandon Garcia, Stephanie Velasco, and Ruben Garcia’s grandfather opened the restaurant before this side of town was even considered Flagstaff.

“When we were young, it was a lot smaller community, dirt roads,” Ruben said.
