TACOMA, Wash. — Two Tacoma businesses are recovering from damage after separate car crashes that happened weeks apart and within blocks of each other.
Aundrea McCarthy, owner of Luv a Latte Espresso on South 11th Street, said she was shaken after a stolen vehicle crashed into the front of her coffee shop earlier this month.
Tacoma police said the suspects fled after the vehicle collided with another car at an intersection and continued rolling, driverless, into McCarthy’s storefront.
“We had just left, and I get a call that a stolen car had run through the building, ran through the window front,” McCarthy said.
The shop, known for its vibrant pink aesthetic and uplifting atmosphere, now has a boarded-up front door while repairs are underway.
