Law enforcement officers and citizens are honoring the life of a long-time reserve deputy in Calhoun County, Charlie Hall.

Information posted in an obituary shows Hall died Sept. 27 at the age of 80.

Calhoun County Sheriff Falon Hurst said Hall dedicated countless hours as a reserve deputy, after retiring from the Anniston Police Department.

Sheriff Hurst said he served papers, provided courthouse and community security, managed offenders and shared valuable advice.
