COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M announced the death of former “First Lady of Aggieland” Reveille IX on Monday.

Reveille IX retired in 2021, making way for our current first lady. The university said she passed in the early hours of Saturday, Sept. 27 after battling pneumonia.

“We are thankful for the diligent and exemplary care that was provided to her by the staff of the Stevenson Companion Animal Life-Care Center and the Texas A&M Small Animal Teaching Hospital,” said Commandant of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Lt. Gen. (Ret.) James W. Bierman Jr in a social media post .
