CRANFORD, New Jersey (WABC) -- An investigation is underway after neighbors say two teens on bikes were struck by a vehicle during an apparent crash in New Jersey on Monday night.

In the typically quiet residential neighborhood in Cranford, neighbors huddle together, horrified by what happened.

NewsCopter 7 captured a huge crime scene on Burnside Avenue near Lincoln Avenue as police investigate an apparent car crash.

Witnesses say a vehicle hit two teenagers on bicycles. Police, so far, have shared few details on their condition.

"At first, I thought it was a shooting because I saw people going in every direction," said neighbor Cathy Donlin. "I was supposed to go out and I'm like... I can't even go out because I feel too guilty knowing something happened."
