DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - River Bend Food Bank’s Davenport warehouse was rocking Monday evening as hundreds of students gathered with community leaders to kick off the 39th annual Student Hunger Drive.

16 Quad Cities Area high schools have once again accepted the six-week challenge to “compete so everyone can eat.”

River Bend President & CEO Chris Ford told attendees of Monday night’s Student Hunger Drive Kick-Off and Skit Competition that every door knocked on and every car wash or bake sale students hold during the competition matters.

“What you students deliver is not only the largest collection of funds and food for the 23-counties River Bend serves, you are delivering hope to the thousands of individuals who receive hunger-relief through your efforts,” Ford said. “Now more than ever
