ChatGPT got updated earlier this month, and a good portion of the AI app's users were furious.

They weren't mad that the app became too sophisticated or took their jobs or anything like that. They're upset that the update made the app less efficient -- and, possibly, less human-like.

Some people are acting like they lost a friend or romantic partner. And really, that was a significant reason, among others, that the app was dumbed down.

OpenAI, the company behind the app, issued a statement on Sept. 16 saying it was trying to make ChatGPT safer for children, especially teens.
