CINCINNATI, Ohio — In a city with a team nicknamed the Avalanche, the Bengals were on the wrong end of one, caused largely by their own mistakes, as they were blown out by the Broncos, 28-3, on Monday night in Denver.
The avalanche started with, ironically enough, a penalty that looked like it was going to benefit Cincinnati.
Broncos linebacker Jonah Elliss had jumped across the line of scrimmage on 4th-and-2 in the middle of the first quarter, but Bengals center Ted Karras was called for a false start.
