Two IAS officers get Central deputation

New Delhi, September 30, 2025: In a notable administrative move, two IAS officers from the Odisha cadre have been assigned to central postings. Samarth Verma, a 2011-batch officer, and his wife Swadha Dev Singh, a 2014-batch officer, have been approved for deputation to the Government of India.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has written to Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, instructing him to relieve the officers within three weeks so they can assume their new responsibilities in New Delhi.

According to the DoPT order, Samarth Verma has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways under the Central Staffing Scheme. His tenure will be for five years from the date he assumes charge,
