CALDWELL — Over 80 community members were at Caldwell City Hall on Thursday evening to hear from eight candidates running for three seats on Caldwell’s city council.
The two-hour event was hosted by the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters of Idaho. It was moderated by College of Idaho graduate professor and Director of Graduate Initiatives McKay Cunningham, who asked the nonpartisan candidates questions raised by the public.
The forum was broken up into three parts for the candidates running for council seats 1, 2 and 3, each 30 minutes long with five-minute breaks in between. Because the city hasn’t reached a population of 100,000, each race is “at large,” meaning any resident of Caldwell can run for any seat, and all Caldwell voters can vote in any city counci
