Rob Beaudrie was torn.
His Jefferson football team was facing a big game against Flat Rock, but the coach’s daughter Livie was part of the homecoming court at St. Mary Catholic Central.
He picked family over football.
“I didn’t make it to Flat Rock until eight minutes left in the third quarter,” he said.
By then, his Bears were in command with a 30-7 lead.
“My coaches did a great job,” he said.
Tanner Herrera ran the offense, and former Jefferson head coach Gene Gennoe took the reins for the defense.
And by going to the SMCC-Airport game, Beaudrie was able to scout Jefferson’s Week 8 opponent.
“They have a really good football team,” he said of SMCC.
All but two of the touchdowns in Jefferson’s 44-24 victory were scored by players named Beaudrie.
