In one of the most ambitious plans to bring about peace in Gaza as the war nears its second anniversary, US President Donald Trump — after eight months of negotiations — has put forward a 20-point proposal .

Titled the “Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza conflict”, the proposal was announced after Trump met Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — who is visiting the US for the fourth time since Trump assumed office in January this year. In fact, he was the first world leader to visit the Trump White House back on February 4.

The plan has different parts, and has elements that have an impact for Gaza, Trump, the region and India.

First, and the most critical point is that Hamas will disarm and surrender, and will be given a safe passage to wherever they wish to go.
