A Victorian minister has been taken to task for attempting to dismiss an IBAC anti-corruption survey, while claiming the government always takes the anti-corruption body’s work “very seriously”.

Victorian Climate Action Minister Lilly D’Ambrosio was speaking to reporters at a press conference on Tuesday when she was asked about the findings of IBAC’s latest perceptions of corruption survey.

The survey, released on Monday, found that 81 per cent of MPs and 68 per cent of councillors believe corruption is a problem in Victoria, while more than half believe it is a problem among elected officials.

When asked about their own organisation, 89 per cent of MPs and 57 per cent of councillors said they believed it was is moderately or highly vulnerable to corruption.
