CRANFORD, New Jersey (WABC) -- Two teen girls riding their bikes are dead after being struck by a vehicle in an apparent hit-and-run crash in New Jersey on Monday night.

The two girls were hit around 5:30 p.m. near Burnside and Lincoln avenues. Both victims died overnight.

The alleged driver left the scene but was later found and taken into custody.

Details have not been released about the driver or whether the collision was an accident or intentional.
