Two major storms currently sweeping over the Atlantic could bring strong rains and winds to the UK this week.

Hurricane Humberto - the third hurricane of this year's Atlantic storm season - became a major category 4 hurricane in recent days. As the storm weakens as it barrels over the Atlantic, remnants of Humberto risk bringing "very wet and windy" weather , the Met Office warns.

But the forecast is complicated by a second tropical storm called Imelda, which is also set to strengthen into a hurricane.

The storms are expected to interact in a phenomenon known as the Fujiwhara effect , when two storms move too close together and start to influence one another's strength and track.
