Some businesses and services are set to close today to honour National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
This day aims to raise awareness of the lasting impacts of residential schools and to honour survivors and their families within Indigenous communities.
Schools, government offices, and other entities will be closed on the provincial government side of things.
Federal Government buildings and services will be suspended on Tuesday as well.
City offices in the capital city will be closed through Monday, but garbage and recycling collection will stay intact. Robinhood Bay will remain open.
As for other businesses, most banks will be closed, along with NLC locations across the province.
Most drug stores will be open, as will major grocery chains.
