NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person was seriously injured in an attack Tuesday morning that reportedly involved a machete, according to authorities.

Metro police officers were called around 2 a.m. Tuesday to the area of Whites Creek Pike and West Trinity Lane after the victim reported that they were attacked with a machete.

Officers rendered aid to the victim until emergency medical services arrived to transport them to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Officials said the preliminary investigation suggests the incident occurred at a nearby residence after a dispute between the victim and an acquaintance.

No additional information was released as the investigation continues.
