CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Columbia Parkway is shut down in both directions due to a serious crash near Delta Avenue, according to Cincinnati police and fire officials.

It’s not clear when the major east-west thoroughfare along the Ohio River in eastern Hamilton County and Cincinnati will reopen.

One person was trapped in a vehicle, extricated by fire crews and taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to Assistant Fire Chief Matt Flagler.

The person’s condition was not immediately available.

It’s also not clear if anyone else is hurt.

Cincinnati police are on scene investigating.
