The Australian men’s cricket team has travelled to New Zealand to face their Trans-Tasman rivals in a three-match T20I series. The series opener will be played at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on October 1, and the same venue will host the next two matches on October 3 and 4. In the absence of Mitchell Santner, Michael Bracewell will lead the Black Caps in the home series, and Mitchell Marsh is the captain of the Australian team.
Santner underwent abdominal surgery last month and was hopeful of being fit for the three-match series but has not recovered in time. While Santner is not available along with Lockie Ferguson and Adam Milne, the hosts will have the services of Kyle Jamieson and Ben Sears.
New Zealand and Australia have faced each other 19 times in the shortest format of the game,
