A man who raped a vulnerable woman has been jailed for nine years. Jason Smith, 34, forced himself on the victim at a house, while his partner and children slept upstairs in 2023.
The victim repeatedly told Smith to stop, but he refused to listen, police said. He was arrested the same day and claimed in interview nothing sexual had happened.
However, DNA evidence helped prove his actions to a jury and he was unanimously found guilty of three counts of rape following a trial in July. Smith was sentenced to nine years in prison on September 29, at Peterborough Crown Court.
He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life and handed a ten-year restraining order.
