The Union Home Ministry on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) directed all NGOs to submit their application for the renewal of the registration under the FCRA at least four months ahead of the expiry of the validity for timely processing and to avoid disruption in their activities.

All NGOs receiving foreign funding mandatorily have to register under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) 2010. The registration certification is normally valid for five years and can be renewed after submitting a fresh application.
