University of Alaska Fairbanks students recently revived their local chapter of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the non-profit that advocates for conservative politics amongst youth.
A week after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point and conservative activist, the UAF chapter’s first meeting saw more than 120 people in attendance. At that Sept. 18 meeting, many in the crowd were members of the community, including Fairbanks Assemblymember Barbara Haney, State Reps. Frank Tomaszewski and Mike Prax, and Fairbanks City Council candidate Hannah Ekalook.
The following week a smaller group of about 25 gathered in person. This time most were students. Many community members that came earlier attended via livestream this time. Chapter President Oscar Smedley appreciated this con
