Florence Welch of Florence & The Machine was on the cover of The Guardian this weekend.
In the accompanying interview, Florence discussed her upcoming album, Everybody Scream , and the life-threatening ectopic pregnancy that led her to undergo emergency surgery two years ago.
“The closest I came to making life was the closest I came to death,” she says. “And I felt like I had stepped through this door, and it was just full of women, screaming.”
She and her boyfriend got pregnant intentionally, but she miscarried. A routine exam after the miscarriage caught the ruptured fallopian tube caused by the ectopic pregnancy. The tube was removed.
She does mention Taylor Swift and what a good time she had joining Taylor on stage at the Eras Tour for their song "Florida!!!".
