A day before a scheduled hearing on Steven Tyler’s motion to dismiss all or part of a lawsuit by a woman who alleges the Aerosmith frontman had an illicit relationship with her when she was 16 years old and he was 25, the judge set to hear the motion has recused herself.

In a minute order prepared by her clerk on Monday, Inglewood Superior Court Judge Tamara Hall said she was removing herself from the case under a section of the state Code of Civil Procedure, which in general states that the judge is doing so in the interests of justice.

The case has been reassigned to Torrance Superior Court Judge Patricia A. Young and a case management conference is scheduled Oct. 15.
