A crash involving several big rigs caused thousands of cans of beer and several kegs to be strewn across the Foothill (210) Freeway Tuesday morning, prompting a multi-hour delay Tuesday for early- morning commuters.

The crash was reported after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday near the westbound freeway and the North Vernon Avenue causing major freeway backup as crews worked to clean up the alcoholic beverage from the freeway lanes, KABC 7 reported.

One of big rigs split in half on the freeway, adding to the congestion.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for the closure of two lanes of the freeway and the Vernon exit for several hours.
