A crash involving several big rigs caused thousands of cans of beer and several kegs to be strewn across the Foothill (210) Freeway Tuesday morning, prompting a multi-hour delay for early-morning commuters.
The crash was reported at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday near the westbound freeway and North Vernon Avenue, causing a major freeway backup as crews worked to clean the alcoholic beverage from the freeway lanes, ABC7 reported.
One of the big rigs split in half on the freeway, adding to the congestion.
A Sigalert, issued at 3:32 a.m. closing the three and four lanes as well as the Vernon Avenue on-ramp of the westbound freeway, was canceled at 10:07 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
