HUSTISFORD, Wis. (WMTV) - A person serving as the Village of Hustisford clerk and treasurer is accused of embezzlement, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
The Village contacted the Sheriff’s Office this month about looking into theft and embezzlement of village funds after a finance audit revealed significant discrepancies.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office determined there was a significant amount of money stolen from the Village of Hustisford.
Officials took Kim Hopfinger into custody Monday and booked her at the Dodge County Jail.
Deputies also discovered embezzlement related to the Hustisford Soccer Club, where she was the organization’s treasurer.
Hopfinger faces charges of misconduct in public office and theft by virtue of employment between $10,000-100,000.
