Longtime Detroit Tigers utility man Don Kelly received his first shot as an MLB manager this season , taking over the Pittsburgh Pirates after the firing of Derek Shelton in May.

The 45-year-old ex-Pirates and Tigers player is sticking around in the role as it was announced on Monday that Pittsburgh has extended his contract.
