PETOSKEY — Two longtime Northern Michigan building supply companies are joining forces.

According to a Sept. 29 news release, Preston Feather Building Centers announced it has acquired Barden Lumber, a Boyne City-based supplier, effective Oct. 4.

The move brings together more than 200 years of combined industry experience and community commitment.

Preston Feather, founded in 1915, is a family-owned company with locations in Petoskey, Gaylord, Harbor Springs, Boyne City and Traverse City. Barden Lumber, established in 1922, has been under the stewardship of the same family for more than a century.
