GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man charged with making threats against conservative Christians has been sentenced to 30 months in prison.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan announced 26-year-old Isaac Sissel was sentenced on Tuesday. Last April, Sissel pleaded guilty to one count of transmitting threats in interstate commerce. His sentence was “enhanced” because he “selected his victims because of their actual or perceived religion.”
U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan Jerome Gorgon Jr. called Sissel a violent extremist who “bounces from place to place committing crimes and skipping town afterwards to avoid the consequences.”
Sissel was charged for making threats against conservative Christians ahead of a rally for then-Republican presidential
