When the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) was alerted about a puppy in urgent need of care, their team acted immediately and went to rescue him.

The sight was heartbreaking. The young dog, later named Quill, had endured severe trauma. His small body was covered in wounds, and his mouth bore a devastating injury after being attacked by another animal. Because of this, Quill was unable to eat or drink on his own.

The team brought him in for X-rays, and what they discovered left them stunned.

A Critical Operation

Quill required emergency surgery to repair the life-threatening injury to his lower jaw.

“Our vet team performed surgery to temporarily realign and secure his jaw bones, but this is not a permanent solution. He may require partial jaw removal surgery to allow him to heal properly,
