CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — A 16-year-old high school student is dead after a crash in Pickaway County Saturday night, according to the sheriff’s office.

The crash happened in the yard in the 12000 block of state Route 762 in Darby Township around 11:15 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 17-year-old boy was driving a 2003 Ford F-250 truck northwest on state Route 762. There were three other juveniles in the truck, including 16-year-old Drace Johnson.

The truck struck a guardrail on the north side of the roadway. The sheriff's office said the driver appeared to have overcorrected, lost control and the truck shot across the road. The vehicle then stopped against a residence.

Drace was taken to Mount Carmel Grove City and later transported to Mount Carmel East. He died on Monday.
