SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A man from Springfield has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to the 2024 murder of his wife.
On April 30, 2024, at around 4:50 a.m., officers were called to an apartment on Federal Street for a domestic disturbance involving a dangerous weapon. The 911 caller, 68-year-old Kenneth Robson, told dispatch he needed an ambulance because "he hit his wife with a hammer and she might be dead."
Before officers arrived, dispatch was able to instruct Robson to leave the apartment, where he surrendered to police. Inside the apartment, officers found 45-year-old Quitiza Holmes suffering from a serious head injury. She was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where she later died 16 days later, May 16, 2024.
