Noel Fielding, co-host of the Great British Bake Off, has disclosed that his fellow presenter Alison Hammond learned a crucial lesson on set – never nibble on the display food.

The Channel 4 baking contest, renowned for its vibrant bunting, tantalising bakes and fanciful set, is a visual delight. Yet despite the kitchen appearing to be laden with sponge fingers, marshmallows and party rings ready for snacking, most of it is strictly out of bounds.
