MANITOWOC, Wis. (WBAY) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed on Tuesday the arrest of 24 people in Manitowoc County last week.
The Department of Homeland Security said some of those arrested had suspected ties to a transnational human trafficking and drug trafficking ring.
The department said in a news release that it received information from the FBI while interviewing victims, including children, of the trafficking and drug ring. The operation took place on September 25. An initial report from the FBI Milwaukee office said that 21 were arrested, but an update from the Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday said the number arrested was 24.
