ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Four people accused of shoplifting from a Cobb County mall and speeding away from police were arrested on Tuesday.

At around 5:30 p.m., Cumberland Mall security told an officer they had spotted a Gray Chevrolet Tahoe believed to be connected to a previous shoplifting incident at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Officers tried to stop the car on Cumberland Parkway, but it allegedly sped off, weaving into the wrong-way lanes at some points.

The chase ended when a Cobb County police officer performed a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver, stopping the car. One of its passengers tried to run but was tackled by a citizen.
